Q1: Are your camper vans equipped with seatbelts?

Yes, our camper vans are fitted with modern seatbelts, lap and diagonals in the front and lapbelts in the rear of the VW's and diagonal, and one lapbelt in the rear of the bongo's. They are suitable for most types of booster cusions other child seats.

Q2: Where is Midland Camper Hire located?

We are based just outside Walsall, north of Birmingham in the West Midlands. We are about 10 minutes from J9 of the M6. WS4 2JT. Contact us or look at a map here.

Q3: What type of Camper Vans do you have?

Our Vans are Mazda Bongos and restored Type 2 VW Camper Vans and a Mercedes 814.

Q4: How many people will the camper vans sleep?

The vans will sleep 4 and an additional 2 in the optional awning. The awning attached not only provides a sleeping area for an additional two people but it provides added shelter and shade, and of course somewhere to store bulky items when out and about during the day.

Q5: Can the camper vans be taken to mainland Europe?

At an aditional charge our bongo camper vans can be taken into europe, please contact us for details.

Q7: What are they like to drive?

As the saying goes”There are horses for courses”.The Bongo’s drive like a large car and are fine all day on the motorway. The VW camper vans are not particulary fast, cruising comfortably at 55-60mph. But, don't forget that the journey should be as much fun as the destination.

Q8: Are the camper vans equipped with CD players?

Yes.

Q10:What happens in the event of a breakdown?

All the camper vans have reliable standard engines and are serviced regularly, but in the unlikely event of a breakdown all vehicles are covered by AA Relay. If the AA is unable to get you going, then we may either replace the van (subject to availability) or refund the remaining part of the hire period.

Q11: What do I need to bring?

The vans are fully equipped but please refer to the inventory under each specific van. You will need to bring sleeping bags or bed linen as well as pillows if not pre ordered, and towels. Please bear in mind that these vans are not huge vehicles and therefore space is limited so we do not advise you to bring too many bulky items. Its also worthwhile remembering that once you have stopped and put up your awning the available space doubles! Please do not forget your driving license and passport. If you are not leaving your car with us, we will need to retain passports.

Q12: What cooking facilities do the camper vans have?

The van is equipped with a two ring cooker and in some models a small grill, which we find more than adequate. You also have a fridge to keep the milk and (especially) the beers cold.

Q13: What is the minimum age for drivers?

25 years minimum to 70 years. (We can, in special circumstances, insure from 21 years at small extra charge with a higher excess.)

Q14: What do I need when I collect the camper van?

For EACH driver we will require a valid credit or debit card, passport and both parts of driving licences with photograph as well as a utility bill less than one month old to confirm current address.

Q15: What if I have points on my licence?

Please telephone us prior to making a booking.

Q16: Can we take our pet with us in the camper van?

Yes for well behaved pets, there is an extra charge however.

Q17: Are your camper vans equipped with seatbelts?

Yes, our campers are all equipped with seatbelts that are suitable for most types of child seats and booster cushions

Q18: Could we leave our car with you when we collect the camper?

Yes. There is no additional charge for this service We can also have your car cleaned from a simple wash, to a full professional Valet as an option while you are away. Our premises have the owners living onsite, 24 hour CCTV recording, alarms and guard dogs.

Question 19. Can I have the camper delivered to my home address?

Yes, this is possible in the midlands area at extra charge. Please contact us for details.
